Description
How the family journey would unfold was becoming clearer with each passing mile. The children were content in their captain's chairs, though they said little as the countryside rolled by through the tinted windows. How the family journey would unfold was becoming clearer with each passing mile. The children were content in their captain’s chairs, though they said little as the countryside rolled by through the tinted windows. As for the driver, he thought the Voxy’s hybrid system simply remarkable. The specifications had promised “23 kilometers per liter,” and the 1.8-liter 2ZR-FXE engine with its electric motor companion confirmed every expectation.
If, then—for there were considerations still—the traffic did not become too congested, if the weather did not turn against them, if no mechanical troubles befuddled the sophisticated e-CVT transmission, the Toyota Voxy might traverse the winding mountain roads from Colombo to Kandy in comfort that would have been unimaginable in lesser vehicles. It is true that, once arrived at their destination, the matter of unloading seven passengers and their considerable luggage might create more choreography than the family had imagined or could desire.
During the first hours, they traveled along smoothly enough. The suspension was not unforgiving, the hybrid powertrain seemed permanently whispered in its operation, the sliding doors were deployed for easy access, and the Voxy glided across the asphalt like a true modern family vessel. The Toyota Safety Sense suite stood vigilant watch—pre-crash safety systems scanning ahead, lane tracing assist maintaining their course, while the 10.5-inch display kept the passengers entertained with Apple CarPlay connectivity. Captain seats in the second row provided individual comfort kingdoms, while the third row stood ready to accommodate additional adventurers should the journey require.
